Unveiling the Cosmic Symphony: Exploring Science, Religion, and the Mystical Connection

Although religion and science have been at loggerheads in the West for at least the last 500 years since the advent of materialistic science, with their respective views on creation seemingly diametrically opposed - one believing in a Divine cause (God in other words) along with the belief in the existence of an eternal soul - and the other of the belief that life is an accident rather than a miracle and that we are simply finite physical forms destined to oblivion at physical death - an altogether more fascinating phenomena and body of evidence is occurring trans-globally at an ever increasing rate, which challenges the limitations and rigid dogmas of both.

In the last few decades we have seen an incredible rise in reports of experiences of non-ordinary reality, including Telepathy and ESP, Out-of-Body and Near-Death-Experience and the well documented phenomena of Reincarnation and Past Life Memory. These experiences are being reported transglobally at an ever increasing rate, regardless of race, religion, age, sex, social or financial status.

Whereas it has been historically de rigeur to refute these claims from both organised religious and scientific bodies, (one always refutes what one does not understand!), the fact is, that there is now an irrefutable and awe inspiring amount of scientific evidence from both the theories of Quantum Entanglement and Superstring theory to confirm these phenomena.

Whilst I have laid out a very detailed holistic ‘theory of everything’ - which weaves together religion, science and the individual mystical experience into one seamless all encompassing reality in my book “A LITTLE THEORY OF ALMOST ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING: CONSCIOUSNESS AND THE COSMOS” - these blogs will not only precis some of the findings for the new reader, but also hopefully document further information and evidence which in all cases simply confirms what our ancestors have known for millennia - that beyond the veil of the physical world is something so remarkable, so unbelievable, and so magical and mystical that we can hardly believe it to be true! It is so near and yet so far at the same time.

Is this magical aspect of ourselves that can apparently defy space and time, what the ancients referred to as the “soul”? And is this soul capable of extraordinary feats? Given everything is composed of Energy and that this Energy is eternal and indestructible, surely there is something in us that is also? Call it soul, call it quantum energy, call it what you will, there is so much evidence coming in to confirm these supernatural claims, that I hardly know where to start!

So let me start at the best place, the very beginning!

Now I am not talking about the beginning of life on Earth. There are many mythical stories about how life began, and human life in particular, the most well known of which is the Babylonian story of Adam and Eve which was adopted by the Jewish people whilst in exile in Babylon, and which subsequently became ideologically accepted as de facto in Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

However, to the modern mind, this is both illogical and unscientific and this creation myth is just that, a myth, which originated long before we understood the mechanics of evolution. Evolution is essential in all life forms. The moment an egg is fertilised, it begins to evolve into whatever creature it will become, be it great or small, and it will continue evolving until the day the physical body dies! When the physical body dies, the Quantum Energy (soul?) is then released back into the Universe. Evolution simply means change, and is part of the dynamics of creation from the beginning to the end, and yet does not detract, if you so believe, that creation itself was not divinely ordained or instigated or did not have a supreme originating factor.

Now, whereas most, if not all religions are founded on the mystical revelations of their respective teachers or prophets, mysticism itself does not appear to have found any grace and favour in our relatively modern male dominated religions. Indeed, anyone who claims such experiences are liable to be considered hostile to traditional religious leadership or worse verging on the heretic! But it is a fact withheld, that all of us are capable of supernatural, religious or mystical experiences of one sort or another. That is because we are part and parcel of an incredible web of creation where all things are bound to each other, and connected at the subatomic level. Since we are all made from pure energy, there is no reason to doubt that we can interact with this supreme energy and experience the supernatural and indeed, even the divine within!

Whilst religious institutions do not look favourably on those who claim to have supernatural or mystical experiences themselves - no doubt in an effort to retain their own control over their congregations - no one could have foreseen that by the latter end of the 20th Century, despite their desperation to hold onto control of belief, the global explosion of literally millions of cases of so called mystical or supernatural experiences would become so universally experienced and accepted into the modern consciousness.

Now, whilst there are many ancient creation myths for our human existence, mud and ribs and all, there are very few that offer any explanation for the creation of the entire universe except perhaps from The New Testament, and Hinduism which both mention the relationship of creation to sound!

“In the beginning was the word, and the word was God and the word was with God” . New Testament, John l. In ancient Hindu scripture OM is the sound God uttered to bring forth the whole Universe. Om is said to be the primordial sound from which all other sounds and reactions emerge which signifies the Supreme power. This is the start of all things which commenced, we are told, with a word, with a sound!

I know, it sounds bizarre doesn't it? Ok, let's translate the ancient, poetic, symbolic language to solid science. Firstly, we know everything is in a state of vibration. From the smallest atom in your body to the most giant of stars. Everything exists because of vibration. But did you know that sound and vibration causes patterns and shapes to form that are integral to creation - like spirals and octagons?

The eighteenth century German physicist Ernest Chladni first observed the effects of sound when he scattered sand on steel discs and observed the changing patterns produced when certain notes were played on the metal plate with a violin bow. Subsequently, Dr Hans Jenny (1904-1972) a Swiss physician, built a machine which he called a Tonoscope that enables the viewer to see the pattern that different sounds make. The Tonoscope showed that the Sri Yantra, an ancient Hindu Yantra, formed when the sacred sound of “OM” was created which coincided with the frequency pattern of diminishing harmonics and was identical to the Sri Yantra - a mandala that is said to represent the moment of Creation.

German physicist and musician Ernst Chladni published a technique to visualise the modes of vibration of a rigid surface using a violin bow.

Fast forward to 2lst Century and we have experiments in Cymatics - Cymatics is the study of wave phenomena and the way they create patterns and shapes in various mediums - that show all cycles and geometric forms, from atoms to galaxies, emerge from the dynamic of harmonics and which clearly shows that this effect of sound could be demonstrated not just with sand on steel discs, but also with water. A simple bowl of water which has a sound beamed at it again shows beautiful intricate patterns that emerge as the differing sounds affect the water.

Now, bear in mind our bodies are vertical columns composed of nearly 80% water! What effect are these vibrations having on our bodies? Vibrations affect the shape of matter in solid objects and in water. So can we assume both vibrations from both inside and outside of ourselves can affect the very shape of us?

Furthermore, experiments have shown that a glass of water that has pleasant sounds and vibrations focused on it, produces beautiful patterns, whilst an identical glass of water has negative emotions and sounds beamed at it. The result? The latter had chaotic and unpleasant shapes. So, again, if our bodies are composed primarily of water, do our own thoughts, as well as the thoughts of others affect us? Do the vibrations of everything that happens around us affect our own vibrational frequencies and patterns - from the microscopic to macroscopic?

Dr. Masaru Emoto's work suggests that human consciousness can affect the molecular structure of water,.

Now, if everything is vibrating, and we have clearly seen that vibrations affect the shape and state of matter, we must seriously ask if the planets - which are the biggest collection of vibrating objects in our vicinity - can affect life on Earth with its subsound? The planets are continuing to orbit our Sun, forming an infinite arrangement of angular relationships, therefore creating different subatomic vibrations, and with their notes and tones, creating an infinite and endless cycle of varying evolutionary life forms?

Indeed, the ‘subsound’ from the planets affects life on Earth every single second of every single day, (as well as their other forces like electromagnetic), and may not only be integral to evolution itself, but perhaps more importantly responsible for enabling life on Earth to begin in the first place!

So let us consider for a moment my theory that suggests that the Planets enabled life on Earth to begin in the first place, and that the SUBSOUND from the planets billions of years ago acted on the primordial oceans of water, thus creating the basic shapes of creation that would result in today's complex world.

In other words, is it possible that life began on Earth when the planetary vibrations acting on the ancient oceans enabled the creation of the building blocks of life some billions of years ago due to the effect of sound on the shape of matter?
